12-5-2011 Tell Me a DIGITAL Story

Digital Storytelling is all a buzz right now in our LAL classes.  Here are 5 sites to help teachers and students compile digital components for any type of presentation.

a.   Museurm Box- http://museumbox.e2bn.org/ - This site provides the tools for you to build up an argument or description of an event, person, or historical period by placing items in a virtual box.  Students can use various digital media and place story segments in consecutive boxes.
b.   Online portfolio for all things digital - http://www.whatfolio.com/ Under 18 must have parental permission.  Might be a great site for a class portfolio with student examples given with parent’s permission.
c.   Moglue e-book builder - http://www.moglue.com/  For students 13 or older.
d.    Podcasts of Aesop’s Fables: http://edition.englishclub.com/category/podcasts/aesops-fables/ May be a good way to begin student projects on fables or folk tales, ending with their own creation.
e.   Inanimate Alice Digital Novel - http://www.inanimatealice.com/ and education pack - http://www.inanimatealice.com/education/edupack.pdf
f.   Slime Kids - library media - http://www.slimekids.com/ - Have students view trailers then create their own for novels read.
